Another quickie today! I biked home after work yesterday, and was home 45 minutes before leaving again. I made a conscious decision to stop buying hamburger buns, and for the first time made myself a veggie burger using large lettuce leaves in place of the bun. It was a bit messy but it worked, and it could even be argued it was more flavorful than when made with a bun. I think I'm going to stick with this idea for burgers for a while at least. It definitely made a difference as far as my caloric intake -- I even had popcorn later at the movie, and was still down more than a pound this morning.

And I then walked an hour to the SIFF Cinema at the Uptown on Lower Queen Anne, reading my latest library book along the way: Letterman: The Last Giant of Late Night by Jason Zinoman. I've been pretty excited to read this biography, as I was always a huge fan of Letterman, and I still miss him -- much as Stephen Colbert has come into his own in the role. In any case, I considered biking back down to the theatre and decided against it once it occurred to me to read while walking.

I then saw the Israeli film The Wedding Plan, which I quite liked, before readin some more on the bus ride back home after, then getting home with barely enough time to write my movie review before bed.

I was also up a bit later than usual, because my stupid electronic fob stopped working on the garage door. I stayed up to make sure Shobhit was able to get in, knowing that if he weren't, he'd be calling me to come down and let him in. He got home from work right around 10:45, and was genuinely delighted that I had stayed up for him. Whatever works, I guess; I did it just as much to minimize my own inconvenience as to please him but whatever.

I was waiting for my phone to fully charge and knew Ivan would then get home only moments later, and he did, so I stayed up to chat with him a bit while my phone finished charging as well. Even Ivan seemed to like having me around for a bit before I went to bed. "What are you doing up so late?" he said. "Were you waiting to see me?" That was a perk, but it wasn't the specific reason I stayed up. He then came and sat on the love seat next to me for a bit, because Shanti was there and we both pet her, while Ivan got white cat hair all over his blue scrubs.

Well, I guess Noah's going to get a point for today on the next Social Review! I made my pizza and decided to eat it out on the patio, because the weather is fantastic. I sat at one of the tables with an umbrella, and Noah came out to sit with me. "I am not eating inside!" he said. My sentiments exactly. I was even surprised to see Scott sitting and eating his lunch inside the kitchen area; he's eaten outside on nice days in the past.

And I then spent about the next half hour just shooting the shit, chatting with Noah. We talked mostly about travel. It was a rather pleasant lunch actually.

But now it's time to get back to work.
