Gone with the Wind Bowl
.
.
First of all, I'd just like to say that all gay people watching the Super Bowl are bringing shame and disgrace on their community!

I'm sorry, it just needed to be said.

I didn't watch the Super Bowl. No, I did something suitably gay -- like watch Gone with the Wind!

susandennis watched it too, since it was actually at her condo, but I can't say it really qualifies as a gay activity on her part. She's straight, after all. But it's also kind of relevant that she's a woman. Sure, lots of women like to watch football. I mean, I guess there's no accounting for taste. Susan's above all that!

I walked there. I feel so much better today -- very nearly back to normal, which is a huge relief. It was so, so nice being able to walk to her place, listening to the B-52s' 1989 album Cosmic Thing along the way -- it was all I could do to prevent myself from busting into a spontaneous dance on the sidewalk! That alone made today a good day. And also Susan's fantastic stack of glass dishes filled with three different kinds of m&m's. Susan's place is like a mini amusement park!

A couple of times I went to look at Susan's live webcam feed so I could see myself in there too. I was sitting on that chair to the far right. I found myself strangely compelling, but maybe that's just because I'm insufferably narcissistic. I do hate my chin, and yet I keep finding myself beautiful in spite of it! Also, Susan complimented my hair multiple times today. But I already demonstrated that she has good taste.

Susan said she hadn't seen Gone with the Wind since she was about ten. If that's strictly true, then she last saw it in 1959. I think in all likelihood she saw it more recently than that. Maybe 1962. Okay, I'll admit it! I'm just guessing here.

We both agreed that by today's standards that movie would never fly, but by 1939 standards it's pretty much amazing all around. I still love it. Susan got confused when I brought up Titanic as a comparison in the context of the most successful movie of all time. Maybe she forgot the entry I wrote about this in 2007. Or maybe that was one of the entries she ignored. It happens.

Susan came up with the idea of trying our next pie joint after the movie. Totally out of character, she even decided to drive after dark to get there and back! We went to Seattle Pie Company in Magnolia, but don't judge them by their horrible website. They have fantastic pies!

Susan had pecan and I had blueberry, both a la mode. We were both very impressed, not least of which was because in both our cases the ice cream lasted just as many bites as the pie slices did! That's something special right there.

We made plans to have brunch at the Georgian Room again next weekend. Apparently their main kitchen is closed so for this month at least, the continental breakfast is the only option but now it's $20 instead of $25 and there are more options. Even $20 is still pretty steep but for some reason just $5 cheaper makes a big difference to me -- and Susan agreed. She said she had brunch with LiveJournal friends both this weekend and last weekend. She's becoming a hot commodity!

I think Susan should have a party and invite all her friends she writes about doing stuff with on her journal. Then we can all come and see who she's been reporting on in person! That would be totally fun. Okay, I have no idea of the idea of hosting a party sounds fun for her (maybe not) but it would sure be fun for the rest of us! Hmm, maybe I should just host a Susan's Friends Party at my place! Of course I'd have to have it in the early afternoon on a weekend so she could actually come to it.

You know why Susan is one of my favorite people? Because she not only doesn't mind my writing about her, she revels in it! How often does that happen? But the thing is, she's easily the only person I've ever known who lives her life even more exposed than I do -- for Christ's sake, she works at home and constantly has a live streaming webcam pointed at her! I couldn't go that far because I'd be too apt to walk in front of the camera naked without thinking. Believe or not I actually wouldn't want to do that. And I certainly wouldn't want to, say, start watching porn without realizing the camera was on.

I did come up with the idea of putting a webcam somewhere near the floor to sort of serve as a Kitty Cam, and Susan even did a little reseach on ideas for me. Turns out when it comes to easily streaming webcams of that sort, Macs just don't play well with others. Oh well.

Anyway! Back to writing about Susan. She's even told me before I could make up stuff to make her sound more interesting if I wanted! I thought about making up something sexual but that just wouldn't fly because, well, let's just say that if we were both on match.com, we'd be in rooms on the opposite ends of the virtual building. Hey, I know! When I got there today she totally had this white powder all over the rims of her nostrils. It was so disgusting and the way she kept twitching was really giving me the creeps.

Okay, I suppose that's not much more plausible than a sexual scenario. But it's still more plausible!

Anyway. She gave me a ride home and now here I am, wondering where the hell all this wind came from. I think it's about time I go watch the special epside of Glee, which definitely also falls under the "suitably gay"category.

Oh admit it, you are just mad because I ate all the powder donuts before you got here!!

You should have snapped a picture of yourself on the webcam! I didn't even think of it. Great photo of our watching, by the way.

I'll never be hungry again. Seriously. Even if you don't give a damn.

I agree! A "Susan's friends party" would be a lot of fun. You're on my list of "Susan's friends I want to meet"

Hmm, well, if nothing else, we could have brunch with Susan at the same time sometime! Maybe that's a better idea -- a "Susan's Friends Brunch."
