Hmm, no exciting surprises to tell you about today. What a boring Friday!

I'm trying to remember what I even did last night. Oh, that's right -- I watched my Netflix copy of Her, a movie I truly love and hadn’t watched since it came out three years ago. I thought a lot while watching it what an incredible script it has, and then was reminded by its imdb.com page that the one Academy Award it won was for Best Original Screenplay.

Shobhit wouldn't even give it a chance, which I found very annoying. He put his headphones on and watched news show clips on his laptop the whole time.

After that, we worked for a little while on the crossword puzzle. We didn't finish it and Shobhit wound up Googling the answers on a whole bunch of them, but at least it still wasn't anywhere near as annoying as the previous day's puzzle.

Oh, right -- I guess there's this: Shobhit and I are going to Cavin's birthday party tonight. This would be Cavin of Charlie and Cavin (and now, in some form or another, Charlie, Cavin and David). It would appear that David was the one who created the Facebook invite to this party, inviting over 100 people, 14 of whom have now confirmed intent to come, and 13 saying "maybe." It's going to be a whole bunch of people Shobhit and I don't know, aside from the hosts, who will be mostly busy, you know, hosting.

I can't remember the last time I actually hung out with Charlie and Cavin. Cavin was actually the more recent, having come to movie night at the Braeburn condos theatre to watch The Shining in May 2013. So, that alone was four years ago.

Cavin brought David that day, and Charlie, who had said he would be coming, did not make it after all. So I haven't hung out with him since December 14, 2010, when he and Cavin joined Laney, Jessica, Jason and me for a Ride the Ducks holiday tour. That was six and a half years ago. I've occasionally had brief bursts of Facebook Messenger texts with him, one of them last year, but it's really been since then that we actually did anything together.

So, this should be interesting. Not in a bad way, necessarily; I don't mean to suggest that. Cavin made the gesture, anyway, and I was actually assuming we would skip the party until Shobhit asked if I wanted to go tonight. I texted back, Do you? and he was basically like, We don't have anything else to do. So, why not? It'll probably be fun. I have these three bags of sample cookie mixes I was already planning to take home and make for Easter, and thus likely make far more than needed, so I can take some of them to the party tonight. The broker even sent cans of frosting to spread on them!

Tomorrow: Tax March. Sunday is Easter. I'll be taking a lot of pictures this weekend.
