I don't have much to say today. You could just go and read my top 10 movies of the year that I posted this morning instead.

I walked home from work yesterday, taking the Denny route instead of Elliott Avenue to Pine Street because I stopped at the tiny post office I never knew existed on 5th and Vine. It was so tiny, in fact, that the supplies you can get at any other post office were not there -- only boxes that needed to be strapped with tape once I got to the counter. What a pain in the ass. So anyway, I mailed Brandi and Nick's calendar to them in Glendale, Arizona. The calendar itself cost like $28 if I remember right; mailing it cost me another $13. If I'd been smart, I would have had it shipped directly to them by Apple, like I did for Uncle David and Mary Ann, and for Christopher and Katina and Nikki and Becca. But, this was one of about nine copies of one version of the calendar that I had mailed directly to me. I was assuming someone from Olympia would be visiting them soon and could just take it with them, and I was wrong in that assumption. Hopefully I've have learned next year. Maybe!

Aside from a brief walk over to Trader Joe's with Shobhit to get rice for the dinner he made, I spent pretty much all evening working on my year-end YouTube video of photos and short videos that I've posted at the end of the year every year now since 2013.

I did have some technical issues with iMovie, though, and I really have to give some props to Apple Care now, because when I went to the Customer Support page and quickly got to a page where they asked for my phone number to have someone call me back, I got a callback almost immediately by a woman who corrected the issue of the program being unresponsive in short order. I could hardly believe it. (It's possible this is only because my computer is still under warranty. I actually don't know if it still is or not, but maybe -- I got either one or three years, and I purchased the new computer last year.)

The woman did that thing where I can share my screen with her, and when she saw me navigating through my folder archives for what I wanted to import into iMovie, she said, "I wish all my customers were as organized as you." I chuckled and said, "Yeah, I'm a little OCD." She saw my navigate to my "tens" folder on my G Drive; then to the "2016" folder; then to "January" and then to the photo and video files I have organized in chronological order due to the naming convention I have used now for over a decade:

01012016-02.jpg
01012016-03.jpg
01012016-04.mp4

And so on.

She then saw me create a new event in iMovie and call it 2016 in Ten Minutes, and she was delighted by that as a concept. I'd share the finished product with her if I could! Except of course she won't know any of the many people who will be featured in it, so it will probably still be boring to her. Of course that won't stop me from sharing it here on the morning of New Year's Eve as usual anyway!

That did still postpone my getting started working on that a bit -- apparently the issue was that iMovie somehow got upgraded since I last used it, and the old libraries created in the old version not being updated were causing it to freeze up. That's an issue that still needs to be resolved, but the customer care lady guided me through creating a new library that freed me up to work on something new. For now, that's all I wanted. I've got it edited down to just under 11 minutes right now; by 10:00 or so last night I needed to start getting ready for bed. But tonight I hope to get it down to a maximum of 10 minutes -- a challenge because a lot happened in my life this year -- and then get the music tracks added, and then I should be all good to load it to YouTube.
